♥ long day..
Urgh, I had a long day at work... We were really busy today, I got there at about 4pm and didn't get to go home til 12:30ish am I know that doesnt sound like a WHOLE lot of hours but when you are running around the entire time, it is quite a while. Then electronic sweeper and the central vac were both broken, so I had to hand sweep about half the resturant, and of course after I did that they fixed the central vac so I had to go over it again.. fun fun.
thats my rant for today, I hope you enjoyed it

Well next to dogs of course, I have a new favorite animal!

It's the fire fox (no not the browser) or the "red panda" and there are only about 2,500 of them left in the world :( aww don't go away little fire foxes!

♥ holy...
Apparently "Wii would like to play"... I was just now looking around online at video games for Christmas and I found this article http://www.gamespot.com/news/6202059.html?tag=latestheadlines;title;1 Over 800,000 wii's got sold between November 23rd and the 29th alone! That just seems so crazy to me since the economy is supposedly "down" right now, do the math, $350 x 800,000 = $280,000,000 spent by Americans in only one week on entertainment alone... Those little Asian guys are getting some pretty fat pockets for Christmas this year.
Christmas shopping went pretty well for me (Although I didn't contribute to the $280,000,000 as mentioned above, not to say I wouldn't want to.) I managed to knock 8 more people off of my list leaving me with only 3 left.. My nephew, my brother, and my future in-laws, but we will wait till I get a little more cash accumulated before I start with them, especially my nephew. He always gets a ton of gifts on Christmas and his birthday (which is only 5 days before Christmas) so I feel the need to fallow trend and spend a lot on him every year as well. Don't get me wrong he is fun to buy for and I love seeing his face when he opens gifts but his mom's side of the family has always made it into this huge event every year spending what must be $100's, and my family just can't to compete with that.. I hate how Christmas has become such a competition in my family, it's like you're a bad person if you can't afford the biggest and best gifts. I am a strong believer in the old "it is better to give than to receive" saying, but there are times when you simply don't have a lot to give, and correct me if I'm wrong but I didn't think Christmas was about feeling like a heel because you don't make enough money to spend $100+ for each person on your list.
Anywho...

♥ Help, I'm stuck in the 1990's
So, I was just browsing the internet looking around at some home-made websites such as http://pink-pistol.net and it's making me miss my website making days, I've had a couple of domains go down the drain because of this evil thing called "dial-up" and the lack of a good photo editing program.. I don't know if dial-up is getting slower or if I'm just becoming more impatient but it is quite a pain in the rear. Maybe someday I will join the rest of the 21st century and get high speed internet of some sort.. I would also like to take a web design class, I'm pretty much self taught when it comes to that topic and i'd like to learn more, and maybe then I could have a snazzy website, but until i have some spare cash that won't happen most likely.
Hmm idea! Maybe if I did all that I could use my newfound skill to make some money. hmmm...
Anywho.
Today I'm planning on going christmas shopping, I havent decided yet if I'm dreading it or looking forward to it, I only have 2 gifts so far and about 2 and a half weeks til christmas.. aaah!most everyone is going to get cheap gifts this year because I'm broke! The only person who is getting a nice gift (over $200) is Jimmy because he is special, but that gift shall remain nameless in case he happens to see this :) hehe but it's awesome, trust me.
Well I should stop rambling on here and go shopping... wish me luck!!

♥ boring..
Whoa.. Today has been quite possibly the dullest day I've had in a long time, I planned on going to church this morning but for the 4th week in a row I slept in.. does that make me a bad person? I work with the kids there on sunday mornings so I feel extra bad because I'm sure they could've used my help, on top of that while I was sleeping in I had a dream that one of the girls from the kid's group died, which is creepy since just a couple days ago I dreamt that my brother died... I know more often than not dreams don't mean anything but it is really scary to think of people close to me dying like that, especially my brother.
I haven't been able to spend much time with Matt since he got married in 2004, not just because he is busy now but also because his wife is a controling bitch, I can't remember the last time I was around my brother without her there, she has forbidden my mother to ever see him or their son because she was late to their wedding, which I'm sure wasn't pleasant but get over it already, it's been almost 5 years... it isn't as if she killed anyone, she just delayed the wedding like 10 minutes. But of course us members of the family that his wife DOES accept (at least for now) have to put on a smile and act like we all adore her otherwise there will be trouble for my brother...it's a crappy situation.
ANYWHO, back to my boring day.. I didn't even wake up until about 4pm and since then I've been waiting on Jimmy to come home, we are supposed to watch "Step brothers" tonight so hopefully he'll be home soon, I miss him so much, with us both working now we hardly ever get time together. He was in the US Army for almost 4 years and so about 2 years of our relationship was spent apart with the exception of leaves and 4 day passes, I remember waiting months just to spend a couple days with him and when those couple days got here it was SO worth the wait, I'll never forget the day he gave me my engagment ring, it was soo cute... He and I were at his parent's house and he excused us to the living room, got down on one knee and BEGAN to propose, and then the phone rang... I knew what was up but I was trying to act like I didn't, but as soon as the phone rang I opened my mouth and said "Ring ring!" referring to the phone ringing, not the diamond he was about to put on my finger.. I felt so dumb.. But it was one of the sweetest moments of my life reguardless... Unfortuneately only a couple weeks later he had to ship out to Iraq for the second time.. After almost 8 months of letters and prayers he was finally home to stay and got to come back to our home town last March TO STAY <3
SO that is my sweet mushy story for today.. thanks for listening, haha.
I am going to go try to warm up now, it's freezing and this space heater just isn't cutting the cake.

♥ Here we go...
Well here it is, blog post numero uno.. The first post always seems to be the most awkward, kind of like meeting someone for the first time and being stuck in a room alone with them forced to strike up some sort of conversation, except with this it's a little more one sided obviously, so just nod along and agree with everything I say, or don't.. either way.
I suppose I could start off by introducing myself, My name is Naomi and we'll just pretend I don't have a last name for all of you stalker types (sorry, maybe you should find a new hobby?) I was born nineteen years ago and I live in Someplaceville, USA... I am engaged to the most wonderful man I've ever met and his name is Jimmy(thank you for the wonderful birthday) who also doesn't have a last name, we have a Dalmatian named Perdi, she actually does have a last name...Wake up! I am not that boring... it gets better hold on.
I am a waitress at a local family resturant who charges way too much for their food but people show up regardless so I guess it works, in fact I think that is what I am going to blog about tonight, I will educate you on tipping.
Here is a little known fact: You are actually bound by law to tip your server at least 10% of what your entire bill costs, if you don't LEGALLY he or she could take action against you, so basically if your bill is $30 you need to tip a minimum of $3 to your server, and you have no idea how many people don't do that, for instance today I waited on a table of four, they were very rude to me, and asked me to basically do everything for them except hand feed them, after plastering a smile on my face and taking all of their crap like a sport, and doing my best to meet their every need they left me $1 when their bill was over $40... this happens far too often.
Not only is this a problem because I have bills to pay, but because at the end of the day each server gets her report of how much she sold for the company, and we have to claim 10% of that as tips which gets taxed, sometimes because of people like mentioned above we won't make 10% therefore we're paying taxes on money we didn't make.. Nice huh?
The moral of the story? Don't be a stingy tipper.
Anyway that was my tipping rant, I've been wanting to publicly bitch about that for a while so I feel much better now. *phew*
Well I think I am about typed out for tonight, it is about 3:30am right now, I'm a night owl but I do need to get some rest so I'm off to do that right now. Goodnight folks.
